January Favorites

Lifestyle Style/Beauty

January, you were quite the month for me.

January was filled with one thing after another. I found myself busy every single day. I can’t complain though! January was a good month.

At the beginning of the month, I thought, “Man, January is about to get real busy, I wonder if my relationship with God will plummet.”

However, God proved me wrong. God worked in my life and my heart a lot in January. He used me more than I expected and He changed me more than I expected.

January came with wisdom, a firmer relationship with God, and a start to discovering my purpose.

Now let’s talk JAN FAVS!!

PLACES:

CoffeeTree,

Have you heard about my new years resolution? If not, check it out here: Brew in the New Year. Anyways, with my NY Resolution, I have become obsessed with CoffeeTree.

CoffeeTree is a coffee shop right by my campus. Honestly, I started going there because it was close to campus AND had better wifi than my campus did. But, after going almost 2-3 times a week, I started falling in love with the place. They have the best cold brews, lattes, and macchiatos. Everytime I go, I am not afraid to try anything new because there is like a 95% chance I’ll love it!

Here is what I have had from there so far:

  • Lavender Latte (Iced)
  • Caramel Macchiato (Iced)
  • Cinnamon Caramel Macchiato (Iced)
  • Chocolate Caramel Macchiato
  • Cold Brew with Almond Milk and splash of vanilla

My favorite one out of the mix was the Cold Brew! (I’m gonna talk more about this when I write my recap over my NY Resolution!!)

Here’s some pics of my cups of joe from CoffeeTree:

Fashion:

Brown Long Sleeve Mens Button Up

Y’ALL, I got this button up from GOODWILL. Yes! A thrift store!!

I really dig it with a pair of black jeans and leopard booties. Honestly, I feel so cool y’all!! Recently, I’ve been wanting to change my style up a bit and this button-up has definitely helped!

Beauty:

Voluminous Millions Lashes Mascara (L’Oreal)

For a while now, I had been wanting to invest in eyelash extensions. But, I’ve heard a ton of horror stories. Recently, I ran out of mascara and had to pick up a random tube at Target. I ended up grabbing the New L’Oreal mascara. And… I LOVE IT!!! It makes my lashes so nice and long. I don’t even have long lashes to begin with so this is an absolute miracle!! The formula doesn’t smell as bad as other mascara. So, that’s a plus.

Monat

I had always heard about Monat because of friends and family who personally sold it.

When December hit, I felt my hair becoming unhealthy. My ends were dry and gross, my scalp was shedding of dead skin, and I had a horrible head itch. I quickly texted my Aunt and asked for a shampoo/conditioner to help with it. She ended up giving me Monat Renew Shampoo and Revitalize Conditioner.

I am only a month in of using it. Personally, I found that it makes my hair soft and luscious. But, it didn’t necessarily help with the scalp issue. However, it DID help with the dry end issue. So, I do recommend this shampoo/conditioner combo as a dry end relief!!

Contact me if you’re interested in trying Monat! I’ll give ya some details on who to contact Email: brewmorejoy@gmail.com (:

Apps:

HYPETYPE

246x0w

This app is so cool!! I mainly just use it to spice up my insta stories. But, I totally recommend because it’s freeeeeeee. You can use different fonts on your pics/videos. You get to control text duration and text font. It’s honestly so rad.

Project365

246x0w

This app is def my fav. My friend Liz introduced me to an app that does a “pic a day for a year.” However, the app she had costed $$. So, I searched the App Store and found Project365 for freeeee. Basically, It’s an app where you can select one photo from your camera roll and place it in the day of the month’s slot. Then, at the end of the year (or at any time), you can turn it into a video or media scrapbook. I can’t wait to see the finished product at the end of the year!!

Books:

Wild & Free by Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan

This book took me a while to get rolling on. However, the book has some really cool points. Jess and Hayley call us ladies out on some real truths. The convicting words had me encouraged to improve my life and relationship with God and others.

Both gals talk about personal stories throughout the book that will leave you feeling connected as a reader and connected as a sister in Christ.

Thank you for stopping in!! I hope you had a solid January. Feel free to leave a comment below of your recent Jan Favs!! I’d love to have some recommendations of things to try in Feb!!

xoxo, Mo Tarp
